The McBride Law Firm
Investigations & Emergency Response
A subpoena, search, arrest, or official inquiry can require a response before the full scope of the matter is apparent. The McBride Law Firm advises and represents clients confronting these demands in criminal and civil matters.
The Initial Response
The first assessment identifies the authority making the request, the response required, the deadline, and any proceeding already underway. Counsel then considers the client’s obligations, the scope of the requested material, and the legal issues that bear on a response.
Records, Testimony & Related Proceedings
Investigations can involve business records, financial information, messages, devices, and information held by third parties. Questions of production, testimony, preservation, and protected information require advice specific to the circumstances. Related criminal and civil exposure must be considered together.
Contacting the Firm
State the jurisdiction, what happened, and any court date or deadline. Contacting the firm does not create an attorney-client relationship. Do not send privileged or confidential information until the firm confirms how to receive it.
Congressional Inquiries
The firm’s government inquiry work includes representation before congressional committees. McBride represented Alex Bruesewitz and other clients before the House Select Committee investigating January 6 and brings that experience, together with professional relationships developed on Capitol Hill, to the assessment and direction of a representation.
Custody, Detention & Prison Conditions
The firm represents clients in matters concerning custody and conditions of confinement. McBride’s work has involved jails and prisons in New York, Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Florida, including challenges involving the Federal Bureau of Prisons, wardens, and other correctional officials. McBride’s work includes filing habeas corpus petitions and motions for compassionate release.
