RELEASE MOTION DENIED IN U.S.-U.K. EXTRADITION PROCEEDINGS

The court denied Andrew and Tristan Tate's motion for release pending extradition proceedings. Applying Eleventh Circuit extradition law, the court addressed risk of flight, danger to the community, and claimed special circumstances. It held that the asserted conditions of confinement had not been shown, on the record presented, to rise to special circumstances warranting release. The order did not decide extradition or guilt.

TREATY DEADLINE FOR FORMAL EXTRADITION REQUEST

Article 12(4) of the U.S.-U.K. extradition treaty sets a sixty day deadline for receipt of the formal extradition request and supporting documents following provisional arrest. The court's September 9 order identified September 16, 2026 as the deadline. This is an upcoming procedural date, not a ruling.
